We are happy to schedule a brief phone call with you to better understand your challenge, what brings you to therapy and to answer any questions you may have. If you feel we are a fit, we can then go ahead and schedule our first session.

Medication can be a helpful tool, and can sometimes be used along with therapy. Some disorders do respond better to a combination of therapy and medication. Many clients are also treated without medication. Therapy can be thought of as creating a roadmap for your emotional landscape. Together, we will explore your inner strengths, understand your challenges, and develop personalized strategies that empower you to grow and thrive. As part of this journey, you and your therapist can discuss if it makes sense to meet with a psychiatrist to consider medication as part of the process.

Everyone’s journey is truly unique. During our first session, we will discuss your challenges and your goals, and our approach will be designed to meet your specific needs. Our weekly sessions will be a compassionate, collaborative process designed around your individual needs and experiences. We'll create a supportive environment where you feel safe to explore, understand, and transform.

The first session is the intake appointment, where we learn as much about you as we can by asking questions about your challenges, your mental health history, and other relevant parts of your history. We will also explain the therapy process to you and answer any questions you may have. Finally, we will collaborate to set goals based on our mutual understanding of your needs.

Everyone’s path to healing is different. The duration depends on your commitment, your individual circumstances, and your personal development goals. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you. Initially, we will see you once or twice a week, unless you are in crisis. Once you are feeling better, we might start tapering off to once every two weeks.
We are also always available for periodic booster sessions once you have completed therapy.

There are a few ways to get the most out of your sessions. Thinking about what you would like to discuss before your session is a great way to prepare for the session and show up ready to dive in. Another great exercise is to take a few notes during or after the session and try to incorporate what was discussed during the week when you are not in session. But most importantly, by showing up authentically, being open to exploring your inner world, and participating actively in our sessions, you are already taking powerful steps toward transformation. Your commitment and dedication are the greatest gifts you can bring to this journey.
